Where’s the Outrage?
As reported by Drudge: Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi defends adding birth control (under the guise of “family planning services”) to the stimulus bill, claiming such services will reduce costs and save the government money.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Hundreds of millions of dollars to expand family planning services. How is that stimulus?
PELOSI: Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children’s health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those – one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.
So, if the Speaker of the House is clear, having children is a burden on the economy. Isn’t it grand that the federal government is offering to save our tax dollars, by taking money from some of us to prevent others of us to have children. Sounds like we are trying to follow in China’s footsteps after all.
“Nursing Home Planning” is no doubt soon to follow. Wouldn’t that also save the states money?
The House Speaker should re-think the long term implication of her policy. Since the government wants to burden the next two generations with the costs of their great experiment in social policy (a.k.a. “financial stimulus”), she may come to realize we will need more of the proletariat to pay for the government-sponsored bourgeoisie.
Remember that this is the same idiot who told NBC’s “Meet the Press” that “doctors of the church” have not been able to define when life begins. We certainly know where she hopes life Will end, to the benefit of all of us taxpayers. No thank you.

Luckily it looks like Congressional dems are willing to forego funding contraceptives this time around. There have been any major victories yet, but I think the GOP of the Hill should get some props for digging in a fighting this 'Stimulus' package. Much in the same way that that $700 billion 'Rescue' package worked wonders (sarcasm), it looks as though this $825 billion check is not going to make a dent either.
I should also point out that dems have expressed a desire to direct stimulus funds towards institutions of arts and sciences, but with stories like these, I sincerely hope that Cantor, Boehner and Company put their foot down.
