This is the Obama clause

By Prometheus • on February 5, 2009

A while back, we posted a conversation on now-President Obam’s born-alive abortion vacillation.  In that post (found here), we made note of the callousness in which then state-senator Obama treated the issue of a botched abortion.  For him, it appeared a political issue only; how not to give any ground to those who seek to protect the life of the unborn.

An in spite of what you might hear in the MSM, Mr. Obama’s decisions on abortion are not met with widespread support.  In fact only about a third of Americans polled agreed with Mr. Obama’s decision to reverse the Mexico City and permit the use of U.S. tax dollars to fund family planning organizations that provide abortions.

The abortion issue has come to our attention again, as an aborted birth resulted in the baby being placed in the trash.  Incredible, right?  Hardly.  Read this:

Fla. doctor investigated in badly botched abortion

The article above tells us how far our culture has devalued human life.  When no one supports an infant’s right to live, it is a mark on all our souls.  Obama and his abortion proponent ilk have debased the culture of life.  At the time we wrote:

To define this culture further.  Obama has supported legislation to deny medical attention to any unlucky baby who somehow survives a late term abortion.  Obama voted against the Illinois Born Alive Infant Protection Act.  The act was intended to allow for care of an infant that somehow survived an abortion.  Obama claims that “there was already a law that required lifesaving treatment, which is why… I voted against it”.  A lie.

At the time there was a law that only protected “viable infants” who the abortion doctor failed to kill.  The proposed bill would have allowed treatment for non-viable infants.  The intent was to provide minimal care for these infants for the few minutes they had left, after the attempt to take their life failed.  I have read the act verbatim, and have read Obama’s spin on his vote, verbatim.  He has lied about  his position.  (see Andrew McCarthy: “Why Obama Really Voted For Infanticide“.

And now the new President has decided to masquerade his “faith-based initiative group”, stocked with abortion advocates.  The Washington Post claims that he is attempting to “nudge the debate away from the morality and legality of abortion”.

It is truly sad when we have created a society where unwanted babies are thrown into the trash, and the President wants to ignore the morality or legality of the taking the life of an innocent.  For this, the President has done more than just “screwed up”.
